All necessary conditions will be created in the near future to increase the supply of electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, the Turkmen Ministry of Energy and Industry said Aug. 20.

"The construction of appropriate infrastructure will allow creating jobs and contributing to stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan," according to a statement.

Other promising routes of Turkmen electricity export, particularly, to Pakistan and Tajikistan become more specific.

Five high-voltage transmission lines with a total length of over 900 kilometers "Serdar - Farap", "Farap - Watan", "Pelvert - Atamyrat "," Mary Power Station - Atamyrat" and "Atamyrat - Andhoi" will be commissioned in Lebap and Mary provinces of Turkmenistan soon, according to the report.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said in February 2014 that the country is ready to consider the proposals to increase the supply of electricity to Afghanistan. It has been recently supplied on concessional terms and on a regular basis.

Turkmenistan plans to increase electricity generation in the country to 27.4 billion kilowatt hours by 2020 and up to 35.5 billion kilowatt hours by 2030.
