By Emil Ismayilov - Trend:

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has prepared an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) within the frameworks of the construction of a new production platform in the Bulla Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, stated the message of SOCAR.

The report notes that the new platform No. 122 is designed for drilling of three gas-condensate wells according to the draft.

Platform will be located at a water depth of 26 meters. According to calculations, the platform will produce 450 tonnes of condensate and 2.4 million cubic meters of gas daily. The platform will be operated by the Oil and gas production department (OGPD) named after N. Narimanov of SOCAR.

As the first vice-president of SOCAR Khoshbakht Yusifzade previously said, SOCAR will build a new platform in the Bulla Deniz field in the zone of the old one, on which the fire occurred earlier due to an accident. Fire on the old platform was extinguished, and it was connected to the transmission system on October 25 last year.

A new platform will be built on the field where the well showed a very large debit, taking into account the stocks of the new unit. Reserves of the new unit are estimated at 10 billion cubic meters of gas, said Yusifzada.
