Some countries, including the United States, are trying to obstruct Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during a live phone-in session aired on Thursday noon, Xinhua reported.
  
"For unknown reasons, the U.S. lobby groups are trying to prevent our entry into WTO," said Putin, which he said was a strategic aim for Russia.
