Connecting of Azerbaijani Internet to Backbone network in north direction is implemented through temporary constructed optic line. Optic cable main line was damaged as a result of accident on October 14, technical director of Delta Telecom, Rahid Alekberli, told Trend .
He said that today traffic exchange is implemented in three directions from Turkey via Georgia, through underwater cable main line via Iran and Russia in north direction.
Alekberli said that negative impact on functionality of the network was not fixed due to alternative communication lines.
Today third part of traffic falls on north direction. Volume of incoming and outgoing traffic to Azerbaijan was distributed via other alternative lines due to the incident. As a result, there were less stoppage.
Accident occurred as a result of repair at 10-kilometer part of fiber-optic line near Sumgait 930-35 kilometers of Baku). About 200 meters of cable, under competence of the Communication and IT Ministry and Aztelekom PU, were fully damaged. Specialists constructed temporary optic line to fully restore capacity for work. Communication was fully restored at 01:40.
