The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan (MCIT) acts as a sponsor of the regional "Connect the CIS" summit of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Ministry said.
The summit, which will be held on Nov. 26-27 in Minsk, is intended to promote a new round of relations between representatives of governments, businesses, financial institutions, scientific organizations and equipment suppliers interested in developing the ICT industry, towards a global information society in the CIS region.
The summit will cover relevant issues for building an information society, introduction of new services, technology, digital television, information security.
Today the delegation of Azerbaijan led by Minister of Communications, Ali Abbasov, left for Minsk.
The meeting will also be attended by authorized representatives and experts from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and other countries.
