Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 14 / Trend H. Valiyev /

Azerbaijan accepts provisions of the memorandum of CIS cooperation in telemedicine only in terms of compliance with all the interests of the country, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies Information Society Development Head Rufat Gulmammadov told media.

Gulmammadov said that Azerbaijan participates in all actions on this issue. If all the issues meet interests of the Republic, Azerbaijan is ready to take part in these projects.

Azerbaijan's position towards the signed memorandum mentions that no rights, obligations and conditions set forth in the memorandum will not be accepted by Azerbaijan towards Armenia till Armenia releases all the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and fully eliminates the consequences of aggression.

The memorandum on cooperation among CIS participant-countries in the development of compatible national tele-consultation and diagnostic systems was signed by prime ministers of the CIS in Chisinau within the Council of CIS Heads of Governments on November 14, 2008.

The Memorandum was worked out by the program of a regional working group of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC) for telemedicine. It was submitted to heads of the CIS governments by the CIS executive committee in accordance with decision No 38 of the RCC Communications Administrations Council Heads' meeting.

The governments of CIS countries having interest in establishing systems in e-health, consider the priority and promising direction of e-health as part of an integrated telemedicine system of the CIS and a global telemedicine system in future.

The governments admit development and implementation of pilot projects in telemedicine systems as a priority to enhance cooperation and collaboration between national health systems in the CIS countries.

The list of authorized national bodies ensuring implementation of the memorandum, is determined by the government of the CIS countries.
