The Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism organized trainings to use information technologies for directors of 20 central library systems of Sumgait, the ministry said.
According to the ministry, the trainings to enhance skills in introducing and using information technologies were held at the Academy of Information Technologies of Sumgait on Oct. 5-9.
The next trainings sessions will be held in Lankaran on October 12-16 and Ganja on October 26-30.
At present, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism realizes a project of automation of library information systems and creating electronic resources of regional libraries. The work on the creation of Internet resources has been completed in the central libraries of Khachmaz, Barda, Guba, Beylagan, Agdash, Neftchala, Ganja, Mingachevir, Zardab etc.
The work is carried out under the "State program on development of library and information field in the Azerbaijan Republic for 2008-2013", approved by President Aliyev on October 6, 2008.
