The frequency spectrum of 470-690 megahertz will be allocated to the needs of broadcasters for the development of the high-definition television (HD - High-Definition), a source in the Azerbaijani telecommunications market told Trend.
The needs of broadcasters in these frequencies will be determined in accordance with their plans on the development of HDTV, the source said. High-definition television will become a promising direction of development of TV broadcasting in Azerbaijan in the coming years.
HDTV represents a new level of image quality. The high-definition television standard is designed specifically for modern TVs. Its advantages are broadcast in widescreen format, high brightness and color accuracy, zero interference, and surround sound in Dolby Digital.
