New head appointed for independent statistics service of Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi, January 4 / Trend Capital, N.Kirtzkhalia /

Former deputy finance minister Zaza Chelidze was appointed the new head of the independent Statistics Service of Georgia (Gruzstat).

In late 2009, department of statistics of the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia was restructured into a separate service upon the law approved by the parliament.
