Azerbaijan approves trilateral general collective agreement over 2010-2011

The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers approved a trilateral general collective agreement between the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) and the Cabinet of Ministers over 2010-2011.


The General Collective Agreement entered into force from the date of signing - February 4, 2010. The agreement was signed by Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade, head of the Confederation of Trade Unions Sattar Mehbaliyev and head of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs Mammad Musayev.


Under the agreement, the parties intend to carry out joint activities in 2010-2011 in the field of socio-economic policies, social and labor relations.

The parties think that in the nearest future softening of negative impact of the global financial crisis on the economy, creating conditions for work, housing and leisure of development employees, ensuring financial, energy, food and environmental safety, the elimination of social inequality, reduction of unemployment and poverty are a priority for socio-economic policy of Azerbaijan.


The parties of the agreement also state that they will maintain their mutual cooperation on the basis of the principles of social partnership, try to regulate social and labor relations through social dialogue, collective agreements, and adhere to agreements and obligations under the general collective agreement.

According to the General Collective Agreement, the parties will mainly cooperate in the sphere of economic policy, wages, incomes and living standards, labor market development and employment, strengthening of social protection, labor rights, labor protection, technical and ecological safety, social partnership and coordination of activity among the parties.

There is the information on basic socio-economic indices of the country, including GDP, the ratio of fixed investments to GDP, state budget expenditures on social and cultural activities, density of population, life expectancy, the rate of birth and death, natural increase of population, the average income per capita, real income of the average monthly salary given the nominal and real growth, fixed pensions, the consumer price index and others in the general collective agreement.
