The Azerigas Production Union of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) forecasts an increase in gas consumption to 14-15 million cubic meters per day compared to 13.8 million cubic meters as of Jan. 27 due to the worsening weather conditions.
"Gas consumption in the capital will likely reach 14-15 million cubic meters," the PU reported.
The PU also stated that no problems have been observed with gas supplies this winter in Baku.
"Gas is pumped into the system in the normal mode and there are no problems," the PU said.
In 2009, the Baku gas system transferred about 2.45 billion cubic meters of domestic gas, which is nearly equal to the figure in 2008.
