Tender for reconstruction of water supply system in Azerbaijan`s Gadabay region announced

Azersu JSC (national water operator) announced a tender on a number of lots for the reconstruction of sewerage and water supply system of the city of Gadabay.

Azersu JSC (national water operator) announced a tender on a number of lots for the reconstruction of sewerage and water supply system of the city of Gadabay.

Tender works which include 12 lots will be held within the framework of the Islamic Development Bank `s project on the reconstruction of the corresponding communications in six Azerbaijani districts:

On water supply:
1. construction of water intake facility;
2. laying main water line with the length of 14.78 km;
3. construction of reservoirs;
4. construction of a facility for water chlorination;
5. laying water network with the length of 72.97 km;
6. reconstruction of asphalt and dirt roads;
7. connection of housing to the water supply, including the installation of 2560 water meters.

On sanitation systems:
1. construction of sewer network with the length of 67.76 km;
2. connection of 2560 residential facilities to the network;
3. installation of 2052 sanitation manholes;
4. installation of two pumping stations with the capacity of 18.5 kilowatts;
5. laying of the sewer collector (length - 694 meters, the material - PELD, diameter - 225 mm).

Tender participation cost is AZN 300, or $ 400. The bids with the backed bank guarantee in the amount of $1 million should be submitted to the tender commission until 16:00, June 3, 2014.

The city of Gedabey is located in the west of the country, 420 kilometers from Baku.
Islamic Development Bank approved the allocation of $ 200 million to Azerbaijan to improve water and sanitation systems in six districts of Azerbaijan in September 2011.

The total cost of the project in accordance with the feasibility study is $ 270 million, which provided for the restoration of water and sanitation systems in Astara, Dashkesen Terter, Gadabay, Samukh and Gazakh.

Azerbaijan has been a member of the Islamic Development Bank since 1992.
