Along with the solution of regional problems, settlement of Syrian crisis was one of the main topics of discussions held during a meeting of the foreign ministers of Turkey and Russia in Ankara yesterday. After the meeting the two ministers stressed the seriousness of the crisis and the need for its settlement in the near future.

Many political analysts regarded the bilateral meeting as the most important step to resolve the crisis in Syria, but it is unlikely that the meeting will have a positive impact on the situation in the country. At least because the opinions of the parties, interested in "solving" the problem, differ on the Syrian crisis and the future of the country.

Unlike Russia, Turkey's position in the region is more favorable, but Bashar al-Assad's stay in power, conducting more large-scale battles and activation of radical religious groups in Syria, in particular terrorist organization "Al Qaeda" is not a positive factor for Turkey.

The most interesting is that the Turkish officials, who denied the existence of radical religious groups in Syria in due time, now recognize it as an indisputable fact.

Recognizing the existence of radical religious groups in Syria in an interview to the French press, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, Bulent Arinc explained it by the fact that the West does not provide the proper support to the Syrian opposition.

And it shows that Turkey has serious concerns in this matter. At least, because Ankara is well aware that it is unable to seriously influence the radical religious groups.

Despite the statement of Damascus that the country has great potential in all areas, when to carefully observe the events in the country, one can see that the present government of Bashar al-Assad has become much weaker than before.

This gives grounds to say that the government of Bashar al-Assad will fall sooner or later. However, this does not mean that the Syrian conflict will come to an end with it.

On the contrary, the activation of the terrorist organization "Al-Qaeda", serious political differences among members of the opposition, Iran's serious impact on Syria and transformation of the crisis from political into inter-confessional crisis will more deepen it.
