Preliminary hearing of the case of the students from Kazakhstan Dias Kadyrbaev and Azamat Tazhayakov accused of violation of U.S. immigration legislation took place, Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan reported on Thursday.
In both cases, the hearing was postponed to a later date (Azamat Tazhayakov - May 9, Dias Kadyrbayev - 22 May).
In the afternoon, they were charged with obstructing the investigation by destroying evidences related to the terrorist attack in Boston. Considering the accusation, the detainees were transferred to a federal criminal jail. A hearing on the criminal case is scheduled for May 14.
Currently, the citizens of Kazakhstan are given needed consular assistance. Diaz Kadyrbaev and Azamat Tazhayakov are cooperating with the investigating authorities.
"Kazakhstan strongly condemns all manifestations of terrorism. Kazakhstan is cooperating with the U.S. law enforcement agencies in the investigation of the incident," the report of Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry says.
