The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev presented awards and awarded the highest military ranks to Kazakh military servicemen on May 6, according to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"I have invited you today to present you regular military and special ranks of the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and special services of Kazakhstan, since you are an example of patriotism and service to the Fatherland. Today, you are awarded high honors. Execute your duties faithfully and be a model for all other employees. This is a joyous occasion for you personally, your loved ones and families," Nazarbayev said after the ceremony.
He recalled that this year's Day of the Defender of the Fatherland is celebrated as a national holiday for the first time.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan, a military parade of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan will be held on May 7, 2013 on the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland.
Conventional military parades demonstrate marching soldiers and some models of equipment and weapons in a static position. However, a military parade is a clear demonstration of the professional training of officers and soldiers, coherence units, and combat capabilities of modern weapons and equipment in service of the Kazakh Army.
On May 7, 2013, Army units will demonstrate their skills in tactics and practical application of advanced models of weapons and technology at the 40th military base "Otar". At the same time, Navy ships will conduct live firing in the Caspian Sea, which will be broadcasted online. Live firing of all weapons of ground troops will be conducted at the military base. Planes and helicopters of Kazakh Air Force will carry out the actual bombing and missile launches, demonstrate training battle, whereas the pilots aces will demonstrate aerobatics.
The personnel of all species and genera of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan will demonstrate professionalism and the level of the field, flight and naval training, coordination and interaction of different formations, units and departments, including intelligence and special purpose.
Officers and soldiers will in fact prove that only true patriots and masters of their craft serve in the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, the motto of which is: "A strong army - strong Kazakhstan".
A distinctive feature of the military parade on May 7 will be the fact that it will involve weapons and equipment in much greater amount than during conventional parades held earlier. For example, 86 planes and helicopters will be involved in the military parade, which is twice more than in the last parade in honor of the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In addition, the new modern types of equipment, weapons and communications of Kazakhstan's military-industrial complex will be demonstrated during the military parade.
