Kazakhstan expects to achieve its forecasted GDP growth of six per cent by late 2013, Kazakh Minister of Economy and Budget Planning, Yerbolat Dossayev said at Akorda (Kazakh president's residence) on Nov. 28.

The minister made the remarks whilst presenting his report on the results of 10 months of 2013 to the country's president.

In January-October the GDP growth in Kazakhstan amounted to 5.8 per cent.

According to the minister, over 10 months of this year the volume of industrial production in Kazakhstan amounted to 14,872.4 billion tenges, which is 2.3 per cent higher than the same period of the last year.

In January-October 2013, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with the Customs Union countries amounted to $17.692 billion or 1.8 per cent more than the same period of 2012. Investments in the main capital in January-October 2013 amounted to 4,534.6 billion tenges which is 8.1 per cent higher than the same period of 2012.

The minister also spoke about the measures planned by the ministry in line with the results of a completed audit of public and industry programmes that seek to avoid duplication and increase efficiency. Following the meeting, the Kazakh president gave some specific instructions on the discussed issues.
