Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will pay an official visit to Astana on January 17-18, the Investment Committee under the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies said today.
"Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Asset Issekeshev met with Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Investment Authority Ahmad Mohamed Al - Sayed on the eve of Qatar's Emir's visit," the committee said.
Possible cooperation in the implementation of promising projects in tourism, mining, an agro-industrial complex, engineering and preparation for the EXPO-2017 exhibition was discussed as part of the meeting.
'Agreement was reached on the possible signing of a tripartite memorandum of cooperation in the above-mentioned areas between the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, Baiterek national holding and Qatar's Investment Agency following the meeting', according to a report. 'The document is planned to be signed as part of Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani's forthcoming official visit to Astana on January 17-18'.
