Kazakh Ambassador to Indonesia Askhat Orazbay met with the Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Le Luong Minh in Jakarta, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

The Kazakh diplomat delivered a letter to the ASEAN Secretary General. This was Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov's letter on his accreditation as Kazakh ambassador to ASEAN.

The ambassador stressed Kazakhstan's interest in strengthening cooperation with ASEAN and in particular, as part of the ASEAN Regional Forum on Security.

The Kazakh ambassador also urged the development of cooperation between ASEAN and SCO.

The Kazakh diplomat updated the interlocutor with the main direction of President Nazarbayev's message 'Kazakhstan's Way - 2050: Common goal, common interests, common future' and presented the text of the message in English.

"ASEAN member states consider Kazakhstan as a country with great economic potential," Le Luong Minh said. "It has achieved significant success in its socio-economic development."

He expressed the hope for successful cooperation in the future.
