Aktau International Sea Commercial Port (AISCP) transshipped about 2.84 million tonnes of oil cargo in January-May 2014, compared to about 2.97 million tonnes in the same period of 2013, according to a message posted on the port's website on June 25.

The port transshipped over 6.28 million tonnes of oil cargo in 2013, compared to about 7.6 million tonnes in 2012.

A part of the oil transshipped via the Aktau port is transported to Baku, from where it goes to Georgia's Black Sea ports via railway.

Some 457,000 tonnes of the total volume of dry cargo transshipped via the port in Jan.-May, 2014, fell to the metal products, 797,000 tonnes - ferry cargo, 384,000 tonnes - grain and 189,000 tonnes - other cargoes, according to the website of the Aktau port.

The port transshipped some 4.67 million tonnes of cargo in January-May, versus 4.16 million tonnes in the same period of 2013.

In total, the port transshipped 10.08 million tonnes of cargo in 2013, which is 3.1 percent more than the forecasted volume.
