Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan expand bilateral cooperation in political sphere

The foreign ministers of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan signed a cooperation program for 2014-2015, which will strengthen the political dialogue between the two countries, according to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

"The signing of the cooperation program was held within the framework of the official visit of Kazakh FM Yerlan Idrisov to Kyrgyzstan. The document was signed by Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerlan Idrisov and Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev," the report said.

The report also noted that the state and prospects of Kazakh-Kyrgyz bilateral cooperation, issues of regional cooperation and international agenda were tops of the discussion at the meeting.

"A great cooperation potential exists between our countries in the economic sphere. We need to deepen trade and economic relations and further encourage the expansion of mutual trade," Idrisov said.

On July 16, within the framework of the visit, Kazakh FM will meet with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev. He will also attend the meeting of foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries and Japan.
