Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has received Defense Minister of the country Serik Akhmetov.
The president drew to the attention of Akhmetov the issues of determining the reliability of suppliers of weapons, according to the press service of the Kazakh President.
The report notes that the defense minister reported on systematic work in maintaining the combat readiness of the Armed Forces, informed about the ongoing organizational and practical measures to increase the combat training of troops, equipping the army with modern weapons and military equipment.
The head of state highlighted the importance of further development of the military-industrial complex of the country and the need to strengthen military-technical cooperation with leading international manufacturers.
Nazarbayev focused on issues of ammunition production at the Kazakh enterprises and determining reliable sources of weapons and military equipment supplies, the report said .
The report also stated that the president instructed to consider aspects of the ministry's activity with given tasks for formation of compact government and improving governance system.
Nazarbayev gave a number of specific instructions after the meeting, according to the report.
