Kazakhstan and Russia will sign an agreement on the operation of environmental legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the territory of Baikonur space center at the end of September according to a Kazakh official.
Deputy Chairman of the environmental regulation, control and state inspection in the oil and gas sector of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan Akhmetzhan Primkulov spoke to reporters Sept.16 at a briefing in the office of the Central Communications.
"Today, a draft decree on the agreement between the Government of Russia and Kazakhstan on the order of conducting business in the Baikonur space center has been submitted to the state authorities for approval," Primkulov said.
After that, environmental regulations of Kazakhstan on the territory of the space center will apply, he said.
Signing of the agreement is scheduled on XI Interregional Cooperation Forum in Russia and Kazakhstan in Atyrau.
The conduction of XI Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan with the participation of heads of the two states is scheduled for September 29-30.
