No repeated devaluation to occur in Kazakhstan - head of Economy Ministry

It is not worth waiting for a regular devaluation in Kazakhstan, the minister of national economy Erbolat Dossaev said Oct. 9 at a briefing in the Service of central communications.

"Today we hold preventive measures with the government in order to understand the direction in which the Russian ruble will be weakened or consolidated," Dossaev said. "Devaluation is not likely to occur."

He said that the government is closely monitoring the situation in Russia.

It should be recalled that in February 2014, after adjusting the exchange rate of the national currency by the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the dollar exchange rate reached 185 tenge.(1 USD = 181.843 KZT) In July, the head of the National Bank Kairat Kelimbetov denied rumors of a second wave of devaluation.
