By Elena Kosolapova- Trend: Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev plans to visit Croatia in 2015, Kazinform reported on Oct. 30. It was announced by Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov at a briefing after the negotiation with Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusic in Astana.

"The main topic of our negotiations was the strengthening of cooperation, and we believe that our meeting today will lay a good foundation for the preparation of qualitative and pithy visit of our president to your country next year," Erlan Idrisov said.

The foreign minister said that Kazakhstan and Croatia have good prospects for deepening cooperation.

He also noted that the agreement was reached to work together to enable the private sectors of the two countries to strengthen relations between the nations.

"Engineering industry, metallurgy, food processing and processing of other products, as well as areas such as tourism, transport and infrastructure were named as very promising for cooperation," concluded Erlan Idrisov.

The presidential visit will be prepared taking these issues into consideration.
The diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Croatia were established in 1992.
The turnover between two countries hit $366.9 million including $50.8 million Kazakh export and $16 million Kazakh import in 2013.

Export of Kazakh mineral products and energy products to Croatia accounts for about 90 percent of the trade turnover. Moreover Kazakhstan exports chemical products, textiles and textile products to Croatia.

Croatia, in turn, exports products of animal and vegetable origin, food products, chemical products, shoes and clothing products, construction materials, metals and products, machinery and equipment to Kazakhstan.
