Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's official visit to Turkmenistan is scheduled for Nov. 6-7, the Turkmen government said in a message Nov. 1.

The message said the issue of preparation for the visit was discussed at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, chaired by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

"The agenda of the upcoming Turkmen-Turkish high level talks will include the key areas in traditionally friendly bilateral relations. Following the talks, it is planned to sign a number of documents," the message said.

The message also quoted Turkmenistan's president as saying, "the Turkmenistan-Turkey relations, which have a history going back to distant ages, have in modern times got a decent continuation."

Turkey is one of the largest trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan. Its local market has over 600 Turkish companies.

Previously, it was reported that in 2013 the foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan and Turkey stood at about $4.746 billion, some 38 percent higher than in 2012.
