The Kazakh MPs, during a visit to Moscow, discussed cooperation with their Russian counterparts, the Kazakh parliament's lower chamber, locally known as the Majilis, said Nov. 6.

The MPs headed by the Majilis Chairman Kabibulla Dzhakupov arrived in Moscow to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

During the event, Dzhakupov met with Sergei Naryshkin, the chairman of the Russian Federal Assembly's lower house, known as the Russian State Duma.

"The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including the cooperation between parliamentarians. It was noted that the high level of cooperation and mutual understanding allows rapidly taking important decisions," the message said.

Dzhakupov stressed the importance of legislative support to the agreements reached between the presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia.

The parties also touched upon the 'Agreement on Good-Neighborliness and Alliance between Kazakhstan and Russia in the 21st Century', as well as the 'Agreement on Establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union', which was ratified by almost synchronously in Kazakh, Russian and Belarusian parliaments.

Dzhakupov also noted progressive implementation of the Joint Action Plan of Kazakhstan and Russia for 2013-2015.
