Kazakh PM discusses energy cooperation

Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov held several bilateral meetings and discussed in energy sphere within the framework of the 25th Session of the Energy Charter Conference in Astana, prime minister's website reported on Nov. 27.

In particular Massimov held a bilateral meeting with Dutch Minister of Economic Relations Henk Kamp. The parties discussed priority areas of bilateral economic and trade cooperation and the ways of further expansion of the business partnership between the countries.

At a meeting with the Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Adnan Amin, the parties discussed topical issues of renewable energy usage and introduction of high tech technologies in renewable energy sphere in order to reduce the negative impacts on the environment. Adnan Amin and Karim Massimov noted the importance of Kazakhstan's participation in IRENA activities and praised the agency's work aimed at strengthen international cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources.

Karim Massimov also held a meeting with Secretary General of the Energy Charter Secretariat Urban Rusnak. The parties exchanged views on the development of the international energy market and global energy security.
