Russian President Vladimir Putin is confident in further enhancing the effective, mutually beneficial relations with Kazakhstan, Russian presidency announced on Dec. 16.

In the congratulation letter on the occasion of Independence Day to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, he wrote that enhancement of Kazakh - Russian bilateral relations and relations within the multilateral formats meet the interests of the peoples of both countries.

Such relations are in line with the acceleration of the integration processes in the Eurasian space, ensuring regional stability and security, Putin said.

Russian President praised the achievements of Kazakhstan in economic, social, scientific and technical fields and stressed that the country has deserved prestige on the world stage and has important role in resolution of the topical issues of the international agenda.

Putin also noted that Russia and Kazakhstan have friendly and good neighborly relations, and that the launch of the Eurasian Economic Union will open new prospects for bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Kazakhstan celebrates the Independence Day on Dec. 16.
