The population of Kazakhstan as of December 1, 2014 amounted to 17.397.200 million people, including urban population- 9.612.600 million (55.3 percent), rural population - 7.784.600 million people (44.7 percent), the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan announced Jan15.

"In January-November 2014, the population of the whole country increased by 236,400 people, or 1.38 percent," said the statement. "In comparison with the data as of December 1, 2013, the population of Kazakhstan increased by 251,500 people, or 1.47 percent."

As a result of processing the information contained in statistics of vital records, presented by the civil registration entities, the number of people born in Kazakhstan in January-November 2014 amounted to 368,900, which is 5,800, or 1.6 percent more than in January-November 2013.

The total birth rate per 1,000 people in Kazakhstan amounted to 23.32.

During this period the number of deaths amounted to 120,800, which is 5,900 people, or 4.7 percent less than in January-November 2013. The total death rate per 1,000 people was 7.64.

Natural population growth in Kazakhstan in January-November 2014 increased by 11,600 people compared with the same period of 2013, or 4.9 percent, amounting to 248,100 people. Natural increase per 1,000 people in the country amounted to 15.68.

In January-November 2014, civil registration entities presented 147,300 vital records of marriage. Compared with January-November 2013, their number decreased by 5.1 percent.

In January-November 2014, the number of divorces in Kazakhstan amounted to 48,400, which is an increase of 2.3 percent compared with the same period of 2013.

For the mentioned period in Kazakhstan, 15,185 people arrived in Kazakhstan for permanent residence, which is a decrease of 31.4 percent compared to the same period of 2013.

Some 26,869 people left the country, which is 18.8 percent more than the same period of 2013.

The share of those who arrived in Kazakhstan from CIS countries and those who left for these countries accounted for 88.4 percent and 90.2 percent, respectively.
