Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed strengthening of the country's national security during the meeting with the chairman of the National Security Committee Nurtai Abykayev, the presidential press-office said.
"Abykayev informed the president about the current activity of the committee and key tasks of the further activity," the statement says. "During the meeting the sides discussed the effective combating international terrorism and extremism."
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the measures aimed at further strengthening of the state border of Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting, President Nazarbayev gave a number of specific orders.
