Uralsk international airport will be opened in Kazakhstan after the repair October 10, earlier than it was originally planned, the press service of the ministry of investment and development of the country said.

"Currently, the general contractor has completed all the work on the reconstruction of the object, extension and expansion of the runway was carried out, work on enhancing the carrying capacity of road surface was implemented," the message said.

In connection with work on the taxiway and the midsection of the runway, the airport was completely closed for flights starting from September 1.

However, after the opening of the airport, it is planned to make flights in the morning and evening, in order to create a gap, which will make it possible to complete the work on the installation of lighting equipment, as well as filling the joints of the runway. Procedures for public acceptance of the object will begin in November 2015.
