Kazakhstan’s national currency, tenge, dropped to a new historic low of 341.94 tenges per US dollar during the morning trading session at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) on Dec.18.

Kazakhstan's national currency, tenge, dropped to a new historic low of 341.94 tenges per US dollar during the morning trading session at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) on Dec.18, or 4.14 tenges less than on Dec.15, KASE announced on its website.

No trading was carried out on Dec.16-17 as the country was celebrating the Day of Independence.

The exchange rate of tenge decreased from 311.92 tenges to 337.80 tenges per US dollar on Dec.14-15.

No transactions were carried out in euros on Dec.18.

The exchange rate of Kazakh currency has halved since July. Its exchange rate was 186 tenges per US dollar in July and 154.06 tenges per US dollar in early 2014.
