Kazakhstan increased gasoline output by 13.3 percent - up to 1 million tons in January-April 2016, as compared to the same period of 2015, Kazakh Committee on Statistics said.

Production of diesel fuel increased by 0.9 percent - up to 1.4 million tons during the reporting period in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan's own production provides two-thirds of the country's domestic demand for motor fuel.

The rest part of oil products is purchased abroad, mostly in Russia. Currently, all three major Kazakh oil refineries - Atyrau, Shymkent and Pavlodar - are being modernized, which is scheduled to complete in 2018. Thus, according to Kazakhstan's plans, it will fully meet the domestic demand for domestic oil products.

Kazakhstan produced 2.9 million tons of gasoline in 2015 that is by 4.9 percent less than in 2014.
