Kazakhstan increased gas output by 0.7 percent up to almost 15.58 billion cubic meters in January-April 2016, as compared to the same period of 2015, the Kazakh Statistics Committee said May 18.

In 2015, production of gas in gaseous condition was 7.07 billion cubic meters, while the associated gas output was 9.51 billion cubic meters.

Production of coal, including coal concentrate, fell by 9.7 percent to 31.33 million tons in January-April 2016 in Kazakhstan.

Production of lignite (brown coal) decreased by 3.5 percent to 1.21 million tons during the same period.

In 2015, Kazakhstan produced 45.713 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 5.2 percent more than in 2014.

Production of coal, including coal concentrate, was 107.189 million tons in 2015, which is 6.4 percent less than in 2014.
