Kazakh Prime Minister Bakhytzhan Sagintayev and Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mladek discussed prospects of future cooperation at the meeting in Astana, Kazakh prime-minister’s web-site reported.

“During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for further trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of renewable energy, engineering, agriculture, cultural and educational cooperation,” the web-site said.KAzakh

The parties expressed their willingness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors, including oil and gas, agriculture, transport, construction, automotive, tourism, environmental protection.

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Czech Republic amounted to $199.41 million in January - October 2016 compared to $271.86 million in the same period of 2015. Kazakhstan is the third largest supplier of oil to the Czech Republic after Russia and Azerbaijan.

From 2005 to the first half of 2016 the gross inflow of direct investment from the Czech Republic to Kazakhstan amounted to $182.9 million, the gross outflow of direct investments from Kazakhstan to the Czech Republic amounted to $14.5 million.
