A new railway station will be commissioned in Kazakhstan’s city of in Astana in May 2017, Kazakh prime-minister’s website reported.
Construction work at the new railway station and railway junction in Astana have been completed by 80 percent as of today, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy’s (Kazakh railways) Kanat Alpysbayev said at the meeting chaired by Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin.
The capacity of the railway station is envisaged at 35,000 passengers per day.
The launch of the railway station is timed to the opening of the “Expo 2017 Astana” exhibition in the country.
