Newly appointed to the post of Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Germany Bolot Otunbaev is a born diplomat, and in terms of his level of knowledge it's necessary to remember that the history faculty of the Moscow State University is a brand, a member of Trend Expert Council, the chief editor of the Caucasus Bulletin news and analytical agency Alexei Vlasov said.
Younger brother of former Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbayeva Bolot was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Germany, and the relevant decree was signed by President Almazbek Atambaev on Wednesday.
The candidacy of 45-year-old Bolot Otunbayev proposed by the MFA as ambassador of Uzbekistan in Germany caused a mixed response among members of parliament of the republic, who remembered that earlier this post was held by the younger brother of the deposed President Kurmanbek Bakiyev.
Bolot Otunbaev graduated from the History Faculty of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov.
According to Vlasov, who is Otunbayev's student of the same year, new ambassador to Germany has played a big role in terms of organizational preparations for the election of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan, whose leader is current president of the republic Atambaev.
"At the same time, Mr Otunbayev has long been in the shadow of his sister, and his kinship with former President of Kyrgyzstan played, in terms of his career ambitions, rather negative than positive role. At the same time Bolot Otunbaev has close ties with the Turkish and Azerbaijani politicians, representatives of business elites," Mr Vlasov said.
