U.S. recommends Kyrgyzstan on development of civil logistic centre in "Manas" airport after withdrawal of U.S. troops in 2014, KyrTAG reports on Thursday referring to the U.S. State Department representative Robert Blake.

"We are negotiating with Kyrgyzstan the future of the "Manas" Transit Centre and we are aware that President of the country intends to create in the airport civil commercial hub, that why we gave our recommendations", said Blake.

As mentioned Blake, "Manas" Transit Centre is significant logistic knot helping to maintenance international forces in Afghanistan.

As was mentioned earlier, Robert Blake arrived in Bishkek to attend bilateral Kyrgyz-U.S. consultations scheduled for January 17.

Previously, Blake visited Kyrgyzstan in December 2011 and April 2012.

The Transit Centre, formerly called the air base was opened at Manas international airport in late 2001. The centre is a major logistics hub for transportation of goods and the antiterrorist coalition forces to Afghanistan. An agreement on the placement of a U.S. air base in Kyrgyzstan is valid until 2014.
