Kyrgyzstan’s Social Development Minister resigned

Minister of Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Kylychbek Sultanov resigned, the Ministry told KyrTAG on Tuesday.

According to Prime Minister's press secretary Melis Erzhigitov, Sultanov submitted the resignation at his own request in a declaration to the head of government.

It is not known whether Jantoro Satybaldyev has signed the declaration.

The previous day, Sultanov said that the activities of all the ministries and agencies of the social bloc have undergone sweeping and non-constructive criticism.

"Last Friday, while discussing the results of the government's work in 2012 at a government meeting, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kamil Talieva subjected the activities of all the supervised ministries and agencies of the social block to unjustified and undeserved criticism. I am very sorry that her speech contained only sweeping criticism of the ministries and agencies and not a single word or action aimed at consolidating the efforts to solve complex social problems," Sultanov said.

According to him, Talieva did not leave a single agency supervised by her without her critical attention.

"I agree that there are currently still a lot of unresolved social problems and the people expect us to solve them. However, it should be noted that the problems of the social block depend on the state of the economy and budgetary possibilities of the republic, as well as a clear, coherent and coordinated work of all ministries, departments and local authorities which is first of all, Deputy Prime Minister Talieva's direct responsibility," K. Sultanov said.

The minister believes that with this statement that Talieva rather recognized "her inability to manage the social block and, in my opinion evaluated the results of her own activities."

Sultanov became a minister on September 6 last year.
