An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale was recorded in Kyrgyzstan on June 6, Kazakhstan's Seismological Expedition of the Science Committee under Education and Science Ministry reported.
The earthquake occurred at 7:40 a.m. local time (1:40 a.m. Greenwich time), 148 kilometres to the south from the city of Almaty.
There is no information about victims or damage.
