Kyrgyzstan, Qatar agree to launch joint projects development

Kyrgyzstan and Qatar discussed the development of bilateral relations and agreed to start the development of joint projects, Kabar news agency reported on September 10 referring to Kyrgyz government.

The details of the projects were not disclosed.

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Djoomart Otorbaev met with Qatari Minister of Youth and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, who was attending the opening ceremony of The First World Nomad Games, which are being held in Issyk-Kul lake area in Choplon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan) on September 9-14.

Otorbaev stressed that the opening of Qatar's Embassy in Bishkek in October 2012 was an important impulse to the development of bilateral relations between the countries.
He also expressed the hope to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, focusing on the great potential in tourism, agriculture, education, mining, air transport and civil aviation.

Salah bin Ghanim al-Ali, in his turn, stressed the importance of The First World Nomad Games in strengthening international cultural cooperation and friendship among peoples. He also confirmed the intention of Qatar to develop trade economic and cultural ties.
