President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the ceremony of the cancellation of the customs control on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border, said the press-service of the President of Kyrgyzstan.

Customs control at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border was canceled due to Kyrgyzstan's entering the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

The ceremony took place on Wednesday, Aug.12 in the cultural center "Ruh Ordo" named after Chingiz Aitmatov in the Issyk-Kul region with the help of a teleconference.

The teleconference was held between the cultural center "Ruh Ordo" named after Chingiz Aitmatov and the border checkpoints "Ak Zhol" and "Kordai."

The ceremony at the border checkpoint "Ak Zhol" and "Kordai" was attended by Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev and First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Sagintayev.

The EEU was established January 1, 2015 on the basis of the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. In addition to these countries, Armenia is a member of the EEU. The union involves the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor resources between the EEU countries.
