Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Ministry has released a statement in connection with the assassination of Andrey Karlov, Russian ambassador to Turkey, in Ankara on Dec. 19.

The statement says that the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry considers this crime as a terrorist act with regard to the official representative of the foreign country.

The incident clearly shows the urgent need to unite and deepen joint efforts to fight international terrorism, according to the statement.

The foreign ministry offered condolences to families and friends of Andrey Karlov, and expressed the hope that all those involved in this crime will be identified and punished.
