The volumes of Tajikistan's trade turnover with seven CIS countries has significantly decreased, Avesta.Tj reported referring to Tajik ministry of economic development and trade.

In January-April, 2014, trade turnover between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan amounted to over $4.6 million, which is 91.3 percent less than during the same period of last year.

The decrease of Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan trade turnover is explained by the restrictions on the joint border, following an armed incident early in 2014.

The decrease in trade turnover between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan amounted to 88.5 percent during the first four months of 2014. Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan amounted just over $1 million.

The decrease between the two countries has continued for the last five years.

Tajikistan's overall trade turnover with the CIS countries amounted to over $1.5 billion in January-April, 2014, which is 3.3 less than during the same period of 2013.
