Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover increases by 12.8%

Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover amounted over $4.3 billion in January-September, 2014, which is 12.8 percent ($489.1 million) more than during the same period of 2013, Asia Plus reported, citing Statistical Agency under President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The trade balance for nine months of this year was negative, amounting to more than $ 2.7 billion, the report said.

In January-September, Tajikistan had foreign trade relations with 96 countries, including 10 CIS countries.

During nine months of this year Tajikistan exported goods worth $776.9 million, which is 11.8 percent less than during the same period last year.

During the above mentioned period, Tajikistan imported goods worth over $ 3.5 billion, which is 20.2 percent more than during the same period of 2013.

The main trade partners of Tajikistan are Russia (over $1 billion), Kazakhstan (over $ 600 million), China (over $592 million.), Turkey (over $456 million).

In 2013, Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to about $ 5.285 billion, which is 2.9 percent ($146.7 million) more than in 2012.
