The Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of Tajikistan (CCER) has announced that as of 12:00(UTC/GMT +4 hours), the voter turnout hit 48.5 percent of voters all over the country, the Tajik National Information Agency Khovar reported March 1.

The Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of Tajikistan (CCER) has announced that as of 12:00(UTC/GMT +4 hours), the voter turnout hit 48.5 percent of voters all over the country, the Tajik National Information Agency Khovar reported March 1.

The next voter turnout will be announced after 15:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).

According to the Constitutional Law "On Elections to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan ", a single nationwide constituency and 41 district single-mandate constituencies and 3,209 polling stations were created in the country to organize and hold the election. Moreover, around 35 constituencies were created in 27 world's countries.

More than 4,400,000 voters were included in the voter lists.

The election will be considered valid if more than 50 percent of people vote.

Around 525 international observers will monitor the election. Around 175 observers account for the CIS countries, 167 - the OSCE / ODIHR, the rest - other international organizations. Moreover, more than 320 representatives of local and foreign media will cover the election.
