The Caspian Sea region is home to peace, calm security, and cooperation, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said, Iran's IRIB News Agency reported on Feb. 16.
"Boosting relations with Turkmenistan is of high importance for Iran," he said.
Rouhani made the remarks during his meeting with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Reshid Meredov.
"Tehran is ready to export technical and engineering services to Ashgabat," he added.
He went on to note that the Caspian Sea region's states need to enhance their cooperation in different fields including environment, sea, ecosystem, shipping lines, and ensuring security and stability.
Turkmen foreign minister, for his part, said that Ashgabat is ready to increase its relations with Tehran.
Meredov also officially invited Rouhani for an official visit to Ashgabat.
"We have had good negotiations with Iran in different fields such as energy, electricity swap, railway, and banking system," he added.
