The basic law on certification came into force in Turkmenistan in December 2013. The law contains an article dedicated to the issues of industrial safety.
"The industrial and technological equipment, materials and chemicals, vehicles transporting dangerous goods, as well as the personnel's individual and collective protection means must be certified for compliance with industrial safety rules to ensure the safety of hazardous production facilities, operations and services, protection of workers, the public and the environment from hazardous and harmful factors," according to the text.
