Turkmenistan and Hungary signed a number of bilateral documents during the official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to this country, a message from the Turkmen government said on June 19.

The following documents have been signed between the two countries:

- intergovernmental agreements on economic cooperation;

- agreement on cooperation in the spheres of education, science and culture;

- agreement between the foreign ministries of the two countries;

- agreement between Turkmenistan's Main State Tax Service and Hungary's National Tax and Customs Administration.

The two presidents also made a joint statement after the negotiations.

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Hungary stood at $17.360 million as of 2013, according to the data of the Turkmen side.

Hungary is interested in increasing the import of chemical industry, as well as oil and gas processing products from Turkmenistan.
