The agenda of the Turkmen Council of Elders, which is scheduled to convene on October 20, 2014 in Turkmenabat town, Lebap region will include relevant issues of the country.

The relevant decree was signed by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The document says that this will serve to actively involve elders to great achievements of national importance, the effective use of rich life experience and elders' wise principles in strengthening the unity and cohesion of people.

The Council holds meetings annually and serves as an advisory body.

The annual meetings in this format are necessary to strengthen cohesion of people, to effectively use rich life experience and elders' wise principles while discussing and resolving the relevant issues of the country, according to the country's media.
